1. Description of Service

SpendSage is a personal and household finance tracking application. SpendSage does not provide professional financial, legal, or tax advice. All data and features are provided for informational and organizational purposes only.

2. Data Ownership & Privacy

• You own your data: You retain full ownership of all financial data, categories, and information you input into SpendSage.
• Our license: By using the app, you grant us a limited license to host, process, and display this data solely for the purpose of operating and providing the service to you.
• If you invite other users to your "Household," you acknowledge that they will have access to the financial data entered into that household. You are solely responsible for who you invite.

3. Service Availability

We strive to provide a reliable service, but SpendSage is provided on an "as-is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee 100% uptime. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (or any part of it) at any time for maintenance or updates without prior notice.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

SpendSage may offer premium features via a paid subscription. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annually) in Australian Dollars (AUD). Your bank may apply currency conversion fees.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
• Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.

5. Acceptable Use & Account Termination

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
• Attempt to hack, destabilize, or adapt the SpendSage application.

Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the service at our sole discretion, without notice or liability, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or our business.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SpendSage and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or financial losses arising from your use of the application. You rely on the tracking and reporting data at your own risk.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date or via email. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights under applicable local laws that cannot be excluded by agreement.
